Why breathing matters
Of course it matters, but when people are upset they are told to take a deep breath and why is that? For one thing, it brings the energy away from the fight/flight mechanism that doesn't require thought. If you are in an automatic knee jerk response, thinking isn't part of that. To think we need to rely on memory to extrapolate the data to link together for the new situation. Depak Chopra said we think about 65000 thoughts a day and most of them are the same we thought yesterday. We tend to loop. Well, here is an article about memory enhancement in deep breathing.
